Sep/Oct 2011 As we go to press with your Sep/Oct 2011 issue of YTE, Standard & Poor's has downgraded the United States from its top credit rating. There will, of course, be a number of significant ripple effects for the global financial markets, each presenting an opportunity for astute traders.
It’s a time that requires experienced traders to act with caution; while there are certainly opportunities to trade, money management is as crucial as ever and some traders will choose to continue their education while sitting this round out.
This issue of YTE provides plenty for those wanting to learn from fellow traders about their trading careers; Ben Power speaks to the developer of one of the most widely used technical indicators – John Bollinger – about Bollinger Bands and John’s incredible trading career; Yoni Assia shares his trading life, which started with placing trades at the tender age of 13; and Kel Butcher talks with aspiring full-time trader Eric Grant about how Eric plans to make trading his full-time career after an injury at work.
Also in this issue, Daryl Guppy looks at Aggressive Hedging with CFDs and provides three profit-capturing strategies; and Kel Butcher explores why FX trading continues to be a hot area of interest for traders, giving some insight into the size of this market, stating that “…the average daily turnover in the FX markets has increased from $3.3 trillion in April 2007 to just over $4 trillion in April 2010. This daily turnover is greater than the combined turnover of all global equity markets.” Kel goes on to show how you can make the move from theory to practice as you move to a live forex trading environment (page 42).
We have drawn the winner of our iPad 2 competition.
