Nov/Dec 2011

As the calendar year draws to a close and the going continues to be rough in markets all around the world, these are potentially very profitable times for educated and informed traders.
In this issue’s cover story YTE welcomes Tim Waterer, who takes a look at volatility opportunities with FX and its growing accessibility and attraction to retail traders in the current market environment.
With worsening economic conditions globally causing equities and commodities sell offs, this might be a good time for traders to pick up undervalued commodities or to go short. In Market Snapshot Lachlan McPherson agrees that the opportunities lie with those prepared to short the market – even though they might not find the bottom.
In Commodities Corner Aaron Lynch asks if it’s time for a relief rally.
Dawn Bolton-Smith agrees, stating that: “In an amazing two months we have seen some of the greatest volatility in our stock market history. Charts have become wallpaper. Economists and market experts now generally recognise that there is a global recession. The ASX 200 Index has fallen 20 per cent in six months: that might indicate the market is getting oversold and is due for a rally.” Read more in her main article “Will it be a big bear or a little bear?”.
